Phil Blauer is an American anchor and reporter working for FOX 5. He served as a weekday evening anchor from 7:30 to 8 pm and a breaking news anchor at 4, 5, 6, 10, and 11 pm. He joined the FOX 5 news team in May 2014.

Santa Ana, California is where Blauer was brought up and he began sharpening his skills in journalism while he was in high school when he would work on the student newspapers. Phil attended Cal State Fullerton University worked he studied Communications and received a bachelor’s degree in Print Journalism.
Blauer has served as a broadcast journalist for over 35 years and during this time, he has received many awards. Prior to joining FOX 5, Phil worked at KCOP, KCAL, KESQ in Palm Springs, KCBS, and KFMB. In addition, he also appeared on Investigation Discovery, 48 Hours, Crime Watch Daily, and CNN. Over the years, Blauer has covered major international and national stories in addition to interviewing 6 United States presidents.
In addition, Blauer has received many awards over the years, inclusive of the Edward R. Murrow Award for Investigative Reporting, many Emmy awards, and San Diego Press Club honors. He worked in radio where he served as a weekly public affairs program broadcast anchor on a number of Southland stations.
During Phil’s leisure time, he enjoys; watching a reality television show, sampling fine restaurants around San Diego County, enjoying Mexican and Italian eateries, recording podcasts with her friend, playing golf, and going on vacations.
