Amelia Jones Biography
Amelia Jones is an American reporter who is currently working at FOX 6. She can be seen on FOX6 WakeUp news every morning alongside Carl Deffenbaugh and Kim Murph. In addition, she joined the FOX6 News team in October 2020 as a reporter.
Amelia Jones Career
Previously, she worked at NBC15 in Madison where she served as a morning news reporter. While she worked at NBC15, she covered historic flooding throughout south-central Wisconsin, unrest at the Capitol in response to the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis, and a devastating explosion in Sun Prairie. Furthermore, she was awarded a Wisconsin Broadcasters Association award for ‘Best Live On-Scene Reporting’ in 2020.
Jones attended and graduated from Marquette University, while she was still a student at the University she also interned at six television stations. Three of her internships were in Milwaukee at the Milwaukee Neighborhood News Service, CBS58, and FOX6, two of her internships were at KTTC-TV in Rochester, KARE-11 in Minneapolis, and PBS Wisconsin located in Madison. Furthermore, she served as an anchor, reporter, and assistant executive news producer for the Marquette University Television Station (MUTV).
Furthermore, for her outstanding work, she received a nomination for a Collegiate Emmy and she received a Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Award for ‘Best News Writing’ for her coverage of the mumps outbreak at Marquette. In addition, during her senior year, she interned at PBS Wisconsin where she served as an investigative reporter on the ‘Purple River Project’ covering the political affiliation change in rural Wisconsin towns from Democrat to Republican in the 2016 election.
While still in college, she was a member of Marquette University’s Lambda Pi Eta Communications Honor Society, a member of Sigma Kappa, and a member of the Marquette University Cheerleading Squad. Kansas City is her native home. During her leisure time, she enjoys hiking, trying out new restaurants in Milwaukee, riding her bike, and cheering on her football teams.
