CB Cotton Biography

CB Cotton is an American correspondent working for FOX News as a New York-based correspondent. She joined the FOX News New York headquarters on February 6, 2023, after previously working for KMGH-TV in Denver, Colorado.

CB Cotton Career

Cotton attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in broadcast and electronic journalism. She is eloquent in Spanish speaking and is a member of the National Press Photographers Association and the National Association of Black Journalists.

She joined ABC’s affiliate KMGH-TV in Denver, Colorado in 2020, as a reporter. CB was the lead night side reporter focusing on; justice, crime, and law enforcement. While she was at the station, she covered the city’s breaking news stories, inclusive of; the December 2021 Marshall fire, and the Boulder King Soopers supermarket shooting. In addition, Cotton reported on the violent arrest of Kyle Vinson in Aurora, the fallout surrounding the death of Elijah McClain following his 2019 arrest, the controversial apprehension of then 75-year-old Karen Garner in 2020, and alleged police misconduct.

Furthermore, she also worked at ABC affiliate WKRN-TV in Nashville, Tennessee where she served as a multimedia journalist. While she was at the station, she wrote and edited live shot stories such as; the 2018 shooting of Daniel Hambrick, the 2019 Sumner County slayings, and Middle Tennessee’s March 2020 tornadoes.

In addition, she started her journalism career at NBC affiliate WITN-TV in Jacksonville, North Carolina. While working at WITN-TV, she provided on-air and social media coverage for Jones County, Onslow County, Duplin County, and Carteret County. Cotton covered the KC-130 crash that killed 16 service members, the death of three-year-old Mariah Woods, the United States Armed Forces nude photo scandal, and Carteret County including the devastation of Hurricane Matthew.
