Shon Gables Biography
Shon Gables is an American anchor working for CBS46, where she serves as a weekday evening anchor at 9 p.m. She joined the WANF team in March 2018, after previously working for KTBS – TV.
Shon Gables Career
In August 1988, Gables joined the University of Oklahoma where she graduated in May 1992, with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics. Later in August 2017, Shon enrolled at Louisiana Tech University where she earned a Master of Business Administration in May 2019. She began her broadcast career at KWCH in Wichita, Kansas and while she was at the station, she serves as a news reporter and anchor of the station’s public affairs program. Later on, she relocated to KWTV in Oklahoma City where she served as a news reporter, producer, and anchor. While she worked at KWTV, she covered the United States military issues affecting Tinker Air Force Base. In addition, Gables worked at KVSP radio station in Oklahoma City where she serves as the news director.
Furthermore, Shon joined WDIV in Detroit where she serves as a morning anchor and reporter covering local news. While she worked in Detroit, she served as the spokesperson for the American Cancer Society’s Southwest Michigan Division, which resulted in her producing a two-hour special on breast cancer awareness. From 2003 to 2006, she worked at WCBS where she serves as a morning anchor and covered New York’s most memorable stories and community events such as; the Twin Towers Memorial, the Republican National Convention, the Historic New York City Subway Centennial Celebration, the NYC Transit strike, the Summer Olympics bid, the blackout of 2003, and the reopening of the Statue of Liberty.
In addition, she has been nominated for Emmy awards and she has hosted a number of televised specials throughout her broadcast career. One of her most memorable moments was the Salute to NYC Schools: Truman High School and the Tunnels to Towers Run, as she hosted the program and took part in the run. Furthermore, Shon wrote and anchored “Salute to Harlem,” which explored Harlem’s economic development, social impact, and future, while she was in New York. Furthermore, she also hosted Black Enterprise Business Report which is a Black Enterprise Magazine nationally syndicated program.
While Gables worked at the BET program, she had the opportunity to interview top newsmakers such as; BET co-founder Shelia Johnson, President Barack Obama, and Texas-based Bishop T.D. Jakes, Hillary Clinton, and Time Warner Chairman Richard Parsons. She is a member of the investigative reporters and editors, IRE, and not long ago, she was the evening news anchor and investigative reporter for the ABC affiliate in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Gables has been married three times, and her third husband is Anthony Robinson with whom she tied the knot in 2009. She has three children; two sons and a daughter including Peyton Anne who she has with Anthony in 2010.
Shon’s first husband was known as Bryan Abrams who she met while she was competing in a Miss Black OU pageant. They dated for a while before they tied the knot in 1992, and together they reside in New York. However, they divorced after Bryan found out that she was pregnant, and she worked as a ticket agent at New York LaGuardia airport at the time. Later in 2005, she fought Abrams for child support.
In addition, Gables later got married for the second time to Peter Klamka, however, their marriage did not last for a long end they separated. She also filed a false police report against Klamka that led to his arrest and on October 23, 2013, Judge favored Klamka and ordered Gables to pay $250,000 to her ex-husband Peter Klamka.

Over the years, Shon has been nominated for a number of Emmy awards and is the recipient of the 2017 Louisiana Broadcasters Prestige Award for best election coverage. She has also received a number of National Association of Black Journalists awards in addition to receiving a Lee Evans Outstanding Journalist Award. The Harlem Chamber of Commerce honored Gables with the 2003 New York City Excellence in Media Award. Furthermore, she received the American Women in Radio and Television’s Gracie Award and the National Black Achiever in Industry Award. Additionally, she was one of Network Journal’s 40 under 40 Black Achievers.
