Lacy Deniz is an American Emmy award-winning traffic reporter and host working for Hawaii News Now as a weekday morning traffic reporter.
The Island of Hawaii is her native home and she attended Kamehameha High School Kapalama where she graduated with a diploma. Later on, she joined the University of Hawaii at Manoa where she earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism and communications. While she was in college, she was involved with pageants and crowned in 2011, as Miss Kona Coffee in addition to attending the Miss Hawaii pageant. In addition, she pursued her passion for volunteerism and began working with many organizations in the community.
Deniz began interning with Hawaii News Now in 2013, and a year later, she got a position as an associate producer before she later became an associate producer, and then the weekend assignment editor. In her position, she dealt with stories that ranged from heartfelt human-interest stories to plane crashes. Not long ago, together with her halau, they took part in the Olympics of hula, which is the Merrie Monarch Festival Competition. During her spare time, she enjoys hiking, being outdoors, riding her horse, paddling, and being outdoors.
