Desiree Fluellen Education
Lockport, New York, is Fluellen’s native home, which is roughly 30 miles north of Buffalo, New York. She attended Lockport High School, where she graduated in 2009 with a high school diploma. Later on, Desiree joined the State University of New York College at Buffalo, where she graduated when she was 20 years old. After having graduated, Fluellen began her television career at WKBW-TV in Buffalo, New York, her hometown. She worked at WKBW-TV for three years, from the year 2013 to the year 2016. During her time at the station, she served as an entertainment, traffic, and general assignment reporter, as well as a fill-in anchor. In addition, it was while Desiree worked at WKBW that she learned how to cover Buffalo Bills, snow, and politics.
Later in 2026, Desiree landed an opportunity to work in one of the nation’s top television markets. In August 2016, Fluellen joined NBC10 in Boston, where she served as a weekend morning anchor and weekday reporter for NBC Boston’s Weekend Today. While in Nashville, Fluellen worked at WSMV-TV, where she served as an anchor and reporter. While Desiree was anchoring the weekend morning newscast at the station, a mass shooting took place at a Waffle House. In addition, Desiree extensively covered the shooting for her station, and this remains one of her most memorable moments.

FOX 10 Phoenix
In the year 2020, Desire relocated to Phoenix and joined the FOX 10 Phoenix team in March 2021. When she joined the Fox 10 Phoenix team, she served as a reporter and fill-in anchor. Initially she was a weekday morning reporter, and in this role, she covered stories such as Soul Sistahs fighting a cancer battle, flash flood watches in Arizona, and Flagstaff starter homes for low-income families. In addition, she also covered the Crown Act, Juneteenth celebrations, the Bambino childcare app helping parents, and ‘Baby G’ technology helping disabled babies become more mobile.
Furthermore, on October 2, 2023, VP/News Director Steve Levi announced the new AZAM team—Desiree and Anita Roman joining Ron Hoon and Ty Brennan 4:30-7am. Desiree now does field reports 7-10am while remaining an education advocate voice. During her leisure time, she enjoys; hiking Camelback, organizing, riding ATVs through the desert, trying new food, and Superstition mountains. In addition, she also loves spending quality time with her friends and family.
