Jeanne Moos is an American anchor and reporter working for CNN as a national correspondent. She joined the CNN news team in 1981, after previously working for WPTZ-TV.

From his home in New York, Moos covers news across the country. In her 34 years at CNN, Moos has covered national and international problems, as well as breaking news and features. But it was her quirky, thoughtful coverage of life’s oddities that quickly made her stand out. Since the first episode of “Making the Most of It” aired in 1995, Moos has looked into everything from stockings with three legs to turtles with two heads. Most recently, she has been reporting on the strange sides of the 2008 presidential campaign. Her news stories are now shown on Out Front as “MOOSt Unusual.”
Before writing her unique stories, Moos covered what was going on at the UN during the Gulf War. For that work, she won the 1991 Korn/Ferry International Journalism Award. In 1989, Moos also wrote about the student protests in Beijing and talked to Mikhail Gorbachev, the leader of the Soviet Union. She has also written about cases of government corruption, including the Abscam scandal in 1981.
Moos was a reporter at WPTZ-TV, an NBC station in Plattsburgh, New York before she joined CNN. She was the first woman hired by the station as a reporter in 1976 when she started working there. She covered many local and national news at WPTZ, such as the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, New York.
Moos received the Front Page Award in the Feature Category from the Newswomen’s Club of New York in 1988. She got an Emmy for News and Documentary in 1989 for her work on CNN’s coverage of the protests in Beijing. Moos was also on the CNN team that won a Golden ACE Award and a duPont Award in 1988 and 1989 for their coverage of events in China. Moos went to Syracuse University and got a bachelor of science in public communication.
