Ana Cabrera is an American Emmy-Award Winning anchor and reporter working for MSNBC as an anchor for the “Ana Cabrera Reports” on weekdays at 10amET. She joined the MSNBC news team in April 2023, after previously working for CNN.

Cabrera completed her education at Washington State University, excelling as an athlete in the track and field team for the Washington State Cougars. Post-graduation, she gained experience working with NBC affiliate KHQ-TV in Spokane, Washington. Returning to her hometown, she assumed the role of the morning news anchor at KMGH-TV Channel 7 News in Denver, where she received an Emmy Award for on-site reporting during the High Park fire in 2012. The morning news team also secured the Associated Press TV and Radio Association’s Annual Mark Twain Award for Best Morning Show Broadcast in 2013. In 2013, she joined CNN as a correspondent in Denver, contributing to the CNN Investigative team. By March 2017, she had been appointed as the anchor for CNN’s weekend edition of CNN Newsroom, taking over from Poppy Harlow.

Her coverage included significant events such as the unrest in Ferguson, Missouri following the shooting of Michael Brown, the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, immigration, marijuana legalization, and the 2017 London Bridge attack. In May 2021, she commenced anchoring a one-hour weekday afternoon segment on CNN Newsroom. Reports surfaced on December 1, 2022, indicating her expected departure from CNN to join NBC News. Confirming the news two weeks later, she expressed gratitude for her experiences at CNN but revealed her decision to explore new professional opportunities after nearly a decade at the network, with her last CNN broadcast airing on December 22. On April 10, 2023, she officially started as the anchor for the 10 a.m. hour block of MSNBC Reports.

She holds membership in the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and actively participates on the board of directors for Mi Casa Resource Center. Additionally, she has dedicated her service to the board of the American Cancer Society.
