Lena Folke is an American anchor and reporter working for KBFX as a Weekend Anchor and Reporter. She joined the KBFX news team in October 2023, after previously working for CAN-TV.
Folke earned her bachelor’s degree in communication with a concentration in narrative journalism from Denison University, a small liberal arts college just outside of Columbus, OH. Following her undergraduate studies, she returned to Chicago to pursue her master’s degree at Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. During her time at Medill, she specialized in the video and broadcast program, engaging in multimedia journalism for Chicago Access Network. Notably, an episode anchored for the team’s weekly newscast, ‘Chicago this Week,’ received a nomination for the college student production award in the 2023 Chicago Midwest Emmys.
Outside of her professional pursuits, she has a passion for painting, spending time outdoors, and curating her vinyl collection by discovering new records.
