Miles Muzio is an American meteorologist working for KBFX as a chief meteorologist. He joined the KBFX news team in January 2003, after previously working for KERN-AM.

Muzio is a Texas A&M graduate who initially served as a weather analyst for the U.S. Air Force for 12 years before transitioning to a career in meteorology broadcasting. As a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist, he earned the designation from the American Meteorological Society (AMS) in 2005. Notably, he received the AMS Seals of Approval for Television in 1983 and Radio in 1985. Additionally, holding the National Weather Association (NWA) Television Seal of Approval since 1992, he went on to establish the Kern Chapter of the NWA in 2006. Serving as both a meteorologist and station scientist, his extensive experience spans various television stations across the United States, including Anchorage, San Antonio, New Orleans, Portland, St. Louis, and Hartford. Throughout the years, his contributions to meteorology have extended beyond broadcasting.
He has authored several papers on forecasting techniques, delving into additional research that resulted in UV radiation forecasting methods and a process for predicting the onset of El NiƱo conditions in the Pacific. Currently holding the position of chief meteorologist at KBAK, he has dedicated 37 years to the field of meteorology, covering roles as a weather forecaster, media broadcaster, and consultant. His passion for weather ignited at the age of 5 in Okinawa when his family experienced a typhoon, sparking a lifelong interest. As a military meteorologist in the U.S. Air Force, he analyzed weather conditions worldwide, honing his severe storm skills at Global Weather Central in Omaha, Nebraska during the 1970s.
An avid severe storm chaser, he has even flown into hurricanes. Notably, while stationed in Houston in 1972, he collaborated with astronaut Gene Cernan, the commander of the Apollo 17 moon mission, providing weather support for the Lunar Landing Training Vehicle. His entry into television occurred in 1980 during his role as a weather briefer for the Alaskan Air Command, where a three-star general suggested he pursue a career in TV weather. His television journey commenced as a weekend weathercaster in Anchorage, Alaska. By the age of 19, he had already visited all 50 states and embarked on the ambitious goal of climbing the high points of each state. This is a feat he has achieved in 43 states so far. From 1991 to 2004, he hosted the “MoonWalk,” a unique nighttime hike up a high Sierra peak during the full moon of August. During his time in Connecticut, he founded a Christian radio station, and more recently, chaired the Homecoming of Heroes parade in Bakersfield.
In 2005, he established the Katrina Hope Foundation, dedicated to aiding the re-assimilation of Hurricane Katrina victims into communities nationwide. His commitment to community service and civic enrichment has been a consistent theme in his life. Alongside his accomplishments in weather and broadcasting, he has been actively involved in various initiatives, including the organization of parades and the establishment of charitable foundations.
