Rhea Jha is an American anchor and reporter working for FOX21 as a News Reporter. She joined the FOX21 news team in December 2022, after previously working for WEM-TV.
Jha completed her education at Penn State, achieving a double major in journalism and history while minoring in international studies. Additionally, she earned a Smeal College of Business Certificate and served as a news reporter and anchor for the student-run newscast Centre County Report. Additionally, she took on the role of anchor and co-host for Penn State President Eric Barron’s monthly talk show, Digging Deeper.
Jha became a part of the FOX21 News team in December 2022, taking on the role of a news reporter and multimedia journalist. Before joining FOX21, she served as the weekday evening anchor and nightly news producer at WETM-TV in upstate New York. During her time there, she discovered that reporting was her true passion and actively sought every opportunity to be in the field, driven by her abundant energy that made desk work less appealing. Her particular interest lies in deep-dive investigative stories and politics. Excited to be fully immersed in her passion for reporting once more, she expresses her enthusiasm for being a part of the FOX21 team. Prior to her tenure at WETM, her primary focus was on political coverage.
She penned feature stories detailing the unfolding events of the 2020 Presidential election and served as a live broadcaster during the 2018 National Midterm Elections. Notably, one of her stories earned a nomination in the feature category of the National Hearst Writing Championships. She also conducted interviews with several candidates vying for New York’s 23rd Congressional seat, aiming to provide the public with insights into their prospective members of Congress.
