Charles Oliveira is a Brazilian professional mixed martial artist and third-degree black belt Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioner. Before switching to mixed martial arts (MMA) in 2007, Oliveira began studying Brazilian jiu-jitsu in his early years and won several championship championships in the sport. As the reigning UFC Lightweight Champion, Oliveira presently fights for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) in the Lightweight class. After 41 seconds of the first round, Oliveira submitted Elkins with an armbar. Elkins brought Oliveira down early, but he soon tried a triangle choke and then an armbar, which forced the tap out.
