James Aydelott is an American meteorologist working for FOX 23 as a chief meteorologist. He joined the FOX 23 news team in 2009 after previously working for KTUL.
Following his graduation from Tulsa’s East Central High School, James pursued his passion for meteorology at the University of Oklahoma, where he earned his degree. Throughout his career, he has worked in various locations, including Sherman, TX, Savannah, GA, Wichita, KS, Dallas, TX, and Tulsa. His extensive experience has exposed him to a wide range of weather phenomena, from tornadoes and hurricanes to blizzards. With years of tornado chasing under his belt, he has become an expert in severe weather and Doppler radar analysis. Growing up in Tulsa, James developed a fascination with the region’s frequent severe weather events.
His upbringing, including family trips to survey storm damage, left a lasting impression on him.
