Garrett Tenney Biography
Garrett Tenney is an American reporter working for FOX NEWS as a correspondent based in the Washington D.C. bureau. He joined the FOX NEWS news team after previously working for Ailes Junior Reporters Program.
Tenney is the first full-time journalist to complete the FOX News Multimedia Reporters Training Program and graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.A. in broadcast journalism. During the program, he worked in Jackson, Mississippi, covering a variety of news stories. These included reporting on the aftermath of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill, documenting the physical impacts of recent tornadoes in Mississippi and Alabama, and reporting on the 2011 flooding of the Mississippi River. A correspondent for FOX News Channel (FNC), he has been with the network since January 2011, stationed at the Washington D.C. bureau. In his recent contributions, he played a key role in FNC’s 2022 Midterm Election Coverage.
Notably, he provided live reporting from Kenosha, Wisconsin, during the trial of Kyle Rittenhouse. This included coverage outside the Kenosha County Courthouse upon the announcement of the Rittenhouse verdict in November 2021. In the 2020 election, he reported on breaking news from Iowa as part of FNC’s Democracy 2020 election coverage. Throughout his tenure, he has covered various significant events, including the impact of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico, the 2017 Congressional baseball shooting in Virginia, and the passing of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. Additionally, he reported on the hearing of 53-year-old kidnapper Ariel Castro in Cleveland, OH, and covered the polar vortexes that brought record-breaking snow and freezing temperatures to the Midwest in 2014.
