Steve Harrigan Biography
Steve Harrigan is an American reporter working for FOX NEWS as an Atlanta-based correspondent. He joined the FOX news team in October 2001, after previously working for CNN NEWS.
Harrigan is a Duke University graduate with a Ph.D. in comparative literature and proficiency in the Russian language. His recent reporting includes live coverage from Beirut on the Israel-Hamas conflict and contributions to FNC’s Midterm Election coverage in 2022. He led FNC’s live reporting on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine from Kyiv and covered the Surfside, Florida condominium collapse in 2021. He has reported on various national and international stories, such as protests after George Floyd’s death, events in Brazil, the death of Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the War on Terror in the Middle East, Mexican drug cartel violence, and the Cuban economy. He also reported on the 2015 Paris terrorist attacks, the Ferguson protests, and the Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 crash in Donetsk, Ukraine, in 2014.
Before joining Fox News Channel, he spent a decade as a CNN correspondent based in Moscow. Where he was reporting from inside the Kremlin during Mikhail Gorbachev’s resignation in 1991 and the Chechen War. The Moscow bureau received Peabody, DuPont, and Kaplan Awards for excellence in reporting during his time at CNN. In 2007, he reported from Trinidad during the search for the fourth terrorist suspect in an alleged plot to attack New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport fuel supply system. He also covered Hurricane Katrina in Gulfport, MS, and reported from Afghanistan shortly after 9/11 during Operation Enduring Freedom.
