Jacquie Slater is an American anchor and reporter is working for CBS6 as a reporter and weekend anchor. She joined the CBS6 news team in January 2022, after previously working for WNYT.
Despite initially pursuing a communications education, the Slater explains that life led her down a different path. During her children’s early years, she ventured into restaurant management and interior design and sales. However, in 2010, she made a decision to realign with her original career goal. She embarked on her news career starting at NBC Connecticut on the assignment desk, and subsequently secured her first on-air position at WCTV in Tallahassee, Florida. Later,she relocated to the Capital Region in March 2018 to pursue a reporting position at NewsChannel13.
Hailing from Connecticut, she had multiple job offers at the time but opted for the Capital Region because, in her words, it encompassed many of her preferred elements from various places she had lived and worked previously. These included mountains, lakes, small towns, big cities, proximity to the ocean, and being near family.
