Erin Brown is an American anchor working for WEEK25 as a weekend anchor. She joined the WEEK 25 news team in March 2022, after previously working for WCAX-TV.
Brown is a graduate of Radford University. She hails from Richmond, Virginia, and made the move to Peoria from Burlington, Vermont, where she spent three years as a weekend morning anchor, fill-in evening anchor, and reporter at WCAX-TV. During her tenure in Vermont, she covered a diverse array of stories, ranging from city government and protests to feature pieces highlighting Black-owned businesses. Additionally, she had the opportunity to interview notable politicians, including Senators Bernie Sanders and Patrick Leahy.
Prior to her time at WCAX, she worked at WBTW in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and KRNV in Reno, Nevada. Her journey in news began in 2015 when she interned at ABC News in both New York City and Washington, D.C. During her time in New York, she joined the investigative team and contributed to an undercover story exposing car dealers for illegally selling new vehicles with safety recalls. In Washington, D.C., she shadowed producers and correspondents on Capitol Hill, during shoots and interviews, and in the edit rooms, gaining valuable experience in the news industry.
In her free time, she can often be found exploring new restaurants in town, indulging in reruns of her favorite show, “30 Rock,” catching up with her siblings or enjoying some downtime with her cat, Delilah. Furthermore, she is excited to explore the Midwest and get to know the community in Central Illinois.
