Tyrah Majors is an American anchor working for KOMO News as a weekday morning newscast anchor and reporter at 4:30 a.m. to 7 a.m. She joined the KOMO News news team in January 2021, after previously working for Sinclair Broadcast Group.

Majors is a graduate of California State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism. She also graduated from the University of Southern California with a Master of Science Degree in Journalism. Tyrah had her first internship program at TVSB; in Santa Barbara while still attending school at the community college. While there, she learned the basics of how to shoot, edit, and work lighting-audio equipment. Additionally, she had other internships that followed, including NBC, FOX, and MUSE which taught her something different about the news industry.
Furthermore, she has also worked at several television stations in California. For instance, she has worked for; NBC 4 Los Angeles, NBC 7 San Diego, FOX 5 San Diego, and MUSE TV, but in late 2020, she relocated from working at KBAK FOX58 in Bakersfield, CA to now working at KOMO News in Seattle, WA. In the course of her professional career, she has delivered breaking news reports on a range of national stories, showcasing her expertise in covering significant events. Furthermore, she covered the 2019 Ridgecrest earthquakes and Southern California’s destructive wildfires.
In addition to her work on serious topics, she has a penchant for feature reporting, where she takes pleasure in shedding light on positive stories within the community. At Komo-Tv, she is enthusiastic about bringing a smile to Puget Sound residents as they begin their day, all while ensuring they stay well-informed about their commutes.
