Ellie Kemper is an American Emmy-award-winning actress and comedian best known for starring in Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt (2015–2019), Bridesmaids (2011), 21 Jump Street (2012), and Home Sweet Home Alone (2021). She rose to fame after starring in the TV series The Office (2009–2013).

Kemper kept interested in improvised comedy while she was at Princeton. She was in two improv comedy groups: Quipfire!, which is Princeton’s oldest, and the Princeton Triangle Club, which is a traveling musical comedy theater company. A radio ad for Dunkin’ Donuts also had her in it. Kemper got her SAG card by doing commercials for a Kmart tent sale that was only going on for a week. In one scene, a spider crawled across her face while she was camping with a character who played her husband. In the late 2000s, she often did comedy sketches on Late Night with Conan O’Brien.
She also had guest roles on Important Things with Demetri Martin and The Gastineau Girls on E!
