Catherine Heenan is an American Peabody Award-winning reporter and anchor working for KRON 4 as an evening anchor/reporter. She joined the KRON 4 news team after previously working for WTMJ-TV, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Heenan majored in communication and journalism from Illinois State University. She covered political and legal beats while working at WTMJ-TV, where she won multiple accolades for her general assignment and investigative reporting. Her decision to move from Milwaukee to San Francisco not only made headlines, but it’s possible that she’s one of the few reporters in Milwaukee to have a day named in her honor officially declared by the city.
For her efforts, Catherine has won numerous awards, including the exclusive news series “Cloistered Nuns.” She and her photographer were the first and only outsiders to be allowed into the Poor Clares monastery in Los Altos Hills while she was working on that series. Her reporting on the Women’s World Cup Championship, the Northridge earthquake, and the Northern Ireland peace plan process are among her other memorable reports.
