Cinthia Pimentel is an American anchor working for KNTV as a bilingual weather reporter. She joined the KNTV news team in September 2022, after previously working for KRON-TV.
Pimentel began her professional broadcast career began at KRON-TV in San Francisco where she worked in all roles from the assignment desk, digital content producer for the Bay Area’s first 24/7 streaming news app called ‘KRONon’, fill-in weather anchor and 3 p.m. News Producer. prior to this, Pimentel worked as a Campus Life Reporter from September 2017 to Jun 2018.
Pimentel has covered unbeatable Bay Area weather, to reading about and seeing the devastation from the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunami, and Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Pimentel knew then she wanted a career in meteorology. This led her to pursue a B.S. in Earth Systems Science with a specialization in Atmospheric Science from UC Irvine. In addition, she is currently working on her Certification in Broadcast and Operational Meteorology from Mississippi State University. During her downtime, enjoys being at home, hot power yoga, and running.
