Lindsay Moppart Biography
Lindsay Moppart is an American sports anchor and reporter working at WGRZ-TV in Buffalo New York, where she anchors sports news. She joined the WGRZ-TV news team in November 2022 after previously working for Drexel University as a sideline reporter.
Lindsay Moppart Career
Moppart graduated from Temple University’s Lew Klein College of Media and Communication with a degree in broadcast journalism in May 2022. During her time at Temple, she covered all of Temple’s athletic teams as a reporter and an anchor for OwlSports Update, a student-run weekly live sports show. In her senior year, Lindsey was given the opportunity to solely anchor a show called “OwlAccess Pass”. In addition, she also joined the TUTV student-run weekly live news show, Temple Update, during her time as an Owl.
Moppart was also a two-year captain of Temple’s Cheerleading team, a member of Temple’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, the Vice President of Temple’s Sports Media Society for Women, and the American Athletic Conference Campus Connect reporter for Temple. Outside of Temple, she had the opportunity to intern with 97.3 ESPN, The Sports Fan Base Network (SFBN), and PHL17 Morning News. While in school, she also worked as a sideline reporter for SFBN, Lafayette College, Temple University, and Drexel University where she was on NBC Sports Philadelphia broadcasts several times.
Moppart has received a number of awards through her years at Temple including the 2022 Jim Gardner Journalism Prize and the 2022 Temple University Diamond Award, which is the highest recognition by Student Affairs given to a Temple University undergraduate student. She was also named a Mid-Atlantic Regional Emmy Awards 2021 Finalist, and IBS Media Awards Finalist, and was awarded in the CBI’s National Student Production Awards, College Media Association Audio & Film Festival, and Temple University’s Media Studies and Production Awards. Moppart is a Philadelphia native and grew up as an athlete herself and a huge fan of all things Philly sports. In her free time, Moppart loves to stay active, cook, and spend time with family and friends. She also loves the beach and her golden retriever, Boomer.
