Patrick Hammer Biography
Patrick Hammer is an American meteorologist working for WGRZ as the Chief Meteorologist. He joined the WGRZ weather team in June 2015, after previously working for KARE 11.
Hammer began his professional career in July 1996 at NBC 24 Chico-KNVN as a Chief meteorologist where he worked for four years and two months. He then became a morning meteorologist at LIN Media Albuquerque, New Mexico Area in September 2000 where he worked for two years and eight months. Hammer later moved on to KIRO TV and worked as a weekend meteorologist from April 2003 and was with the team for two years and two months.
In addition, he later joined the US Nordic Ski News Team as an on-site meteorologist for worldwide Nordic and alpine ski competitions from July 2006 to September 2009. Hammer then moved on to KSTP TV in the Greater Minneapolis-St Paul Area, where he worked as a morning and mid-day Meteorologist, fill-in Twin Cities Live Host, and Severe Weather Changes reporter where he worked for 9 years. This was before joining KARE 11 and later on to presently WRGZ.
Hammer had graduated from Mississippi State University where he was awarded his AMS Certification in Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology, Prior to joining the University of Southern California in 1988 to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Urban Planning. He is also a member of the American Meteorological Society and was awarded the Television Seal Of Approval
