Dani Beckstrom Biography
Dani Beckstrom is an American meteorologist working for WABC-TV as the chief meteorologist. She joined the WABC-TV team in August 2022, after previously working at KTNV.
Prior to working in Las Vegas, Beckstrom worked for WFTX in Fort Myers where she served as a morning meteorologist. She spent her time talking about tropical weather while tracking heat, hurricanes, and humidity. For a number of years, Dani covered non-stop summer, and now she is very excited to forecast all 4 seasons again.
Boise, Idaho is where Dani was brought up and she attended Brigham Young University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in broadcast journalism in 2013. While she was at Brigham Young University, she had the privilege to travel the country as a member of the BYU cheer squad and she also interned at NY1 in New York City. In addition, after having graduated, Beckstrom worked for KPVI in Eastern Idaho where he served as an anchor and reporter for a year.
Later on, Dani joined the ABC affiliate KIVI in Boise where she took over as the morning weather forecaster. Beckstrom has also worked for WFTX in Fort Myers, Florida where she served as a morning meteorologist. While she was there, she gained experience in both tropical meteorology and severe weather. In addition, Hurricane Irma made landfall on Marco Island in September 2017, she played an important role in keeping southwest Florida safe and informed. Furthermore, while Beckstrom worked in Florida, she joined Mississippi State University where she earned a Certificate of Broadcast and Operational Meteorology in August 2018. During her spare time, she enjoys playing sports, trying out new foods, and cheering on her favorite teams.
