Brian Taff Biography
Brian Taff is an American anchor working for 6ABC as the co-anchor of the 4 p.m. and anchor of the 6 p.m. newscast. He joined the 6 ABC news team in 2009.
While working at 6 ABC, Taff’s assignments have taken him everywhere in the Tri-State area, and around the globe. He traveled to Alabama and Florida when the massive BP oil spill threatened the coast of the southern United States. In addition, he also traveled to Rome, Italy during the start of the Catholic Church’s process of electing a new Pope and he brought Action News inside the age-old traditions of the Vatican.
Taff was invited to the White House when President Obama’s first term was almost over. He had an exclusive conversation with President Obama in the historic Cabinet Room. During the 2012 election cycle, Brian covered every Presidential and Vice Presidential Debate. His assignments have also taken him flying at speeds higher than 700mph and forces greater than 9Gs while flying with the US Air Force Thunderbirds. In addition, before Taff joined Action News, he worked on Capital Tonight show as its anchor and editor in New York. While he served as an anchor and editor of the Capital Tonight show, he conducted live interviews with major politicians and newsmakers in New York State.
Furthermore, for two consecutive years, Taff won the Associated Press Award for “Best Interview.” He also broadcasted live from all across the country including in 2004 and 2008, from the National Political Conventions. Before serving as host of Capital Tonight, he worked at Capital News 9 in Albany, New York where he served as a weekend anchor and reporter. In addition, he started his broadcast journalism career at WVII-TV in Bangor, Maine.
Brian attended Boston College where he graduated proudly. Whenever he finds free time, he enjoys spending time on the waters, hiking, boating along the Jersey Shore, and being outdoors together with his family. He enjoys being part of the Action News family while covering daily events of the Delaware Valley.
